Do you love Valentines Day and put lots of energy into planning the perfect meal, event or gift? Or do you hate Valentines Day, struggle under the pressure of making it just right or find it just too cheesy? Valentines Day is this Sunday, which if you enjoy planning and cooking you’ve got Saturday to get it all sorted. However if you like to keep things simple, but still want to curl up in front of the fire with your someone special and a fab sharing treat, here’s a few easy ideas.
Honey And Pistachio Baked Camembert

Valentines Day Baked Honey Camembert
1 Camembert about 250g. 50g Greek or other runny honey. 50g Chopped pistachios. 40g chopped flaked almonds.
You don’t need a fancy camembert baker to have baked camembert; a perfect sharing dish for Valentines Day. Buy a camembert in a wooden box. Remove the lid and the greaseproof/plastic wrapper and put the bare camembert back into the box. Make a few holes in the cheese and with your thumb over the bottle shake some white wine onto the cheese, just a little. Place in a preheated 200c, 180c fan, Gas mark 6, 400f, for 15 – 20 minutes until soft and slightly wobbly on the top. This will vary depending on how ripe the camembert is. Remove from the oven, place on a serving plate and pour over the honey and scatter with pistachios and flaked almonds. Snuggle up and dip crusty bread into the oozing cheese and sweet honey.
Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Valentines Day Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
360g Fresh strawberries. 100g each of milk and white chocolate. chocolate chips, sprinkles to top the strawberries if you want to make them festive.
Cut the stalks off the strawberries leaving a flat base for them to stand on. Chop each of the bars of chocolate and place in separate bowls. Place individually in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time until the chocolate has melted. Stir between blasts to ensure the chocolate doesn’t burn. Dip the strawberry pointed ends into the chocolate and place flat end on a plate to set. If topping with sprinkles, chips etc scatter over the chocolate before it’s set. These are great for sharing for Valentines day.
Chocolate Swirled Discs

Valentines Day Milk And White Chocolate Discs
100g Milk chocolate, chopped. 100g White chocolate, chopped. Cocktail stick
If you fancy making a gift for Valentines Day these chocolate discs are super easy and very impressive. Put the milk chocolate and the white chocolate in separate bowls. Place each individually in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time until the chocolate has melted. Stir between blasts to stop it burning, especially the white chocolate. lay a piece of parchment paper on the work top and spoon small discs of milk chocolate onto the paper with a teaspoon. Blob a bit of white chocolate into the centre and then using a cocktail stick swirl the white chocolate into the milk chocolate. Just like stirring tea, but slowly. Then spoon white chocolate circles and swirl with the milk chocolate. Top with sprinkles or nuts if you want to be extra posh. Leave to set.

Mr Glam polished that off way before it got to the table! 🙂 GG
Oh, I love the sound of the baked camembert! We’re not big on Valentine’s Day here (we’re a modern, blended family with both of us having being divorced) so Valentine’s Day includes all our kids, and this just might go down well with all of them. And to be honest, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Im sure everyone would dip in to that oozey camembert, it’s a treat. GG
Happy Valentines Day! These are really beautiful ideas GG!! 😀
Thanks Lorraine. I hope you and Mr NQN have a fab weekend. GG

That sounds great, I love chilling out by the beach and dinner, of course. GG
I love all of your ideas, especially the baked Camembert, how dreamy. We had a lovely dinner the night before and a kids party on the day so no romance here. I’d like to have the chocolate strawberries right now though!
Valentine’s goodies aren’t just for valentine’s day. These treats can be used any time. GG
I’ve just started seeing this boy, he is a MASSIVE foodie too, so I have been stalking all the romantic foods to feed him, impress him. The baked camembert with honey and pistachio practically had him on one knee. So much yumminess.
So glad it was a success and you both enjoyed it. GG
