Spice Health Heroes By Natasha MacAller

Stuffed with more than 100 recipes Spice Health Heroes is a wide ranging look at the health benefits of spices.  This is the second book by Ballerina Chef  Natasha MacAller.  After a thirty year career as a ballerina ultimately in Broadway and L.A. productions of The Phatom Of The Opera.  MacAller now teaches cooking in New Zealand, L.A. and London as well as being much sought after as a restaurant consultant.  Spice Health Heroes was inspired by the various spices MacAller cooks with on her travels.

Spices turn a dish from the mundane to the extraordinary,  adding depth of flavour, and now more widely appreciated in the west, health benefits.  Spice Health Heroes celebrates the health advantages of more than thirty spices in delicious original recipes, twenty one of which are contributed by world renowned and Michelin starred chefs Such as April Bloomfield, Peter Gordon, Judy Joo and Cyrus Todiwala.

This is not a diet book, nor is it a medical book, but working with a number of medical professionals, MacAller has looked at groups of spices and their benefits.  Split into six main recipe sections each one dealing with different elements of the spices.  Immune Spice, Cleansing Spice, Energy Spice, Warming Spice, Restorative Spice and Calming Spice.  This recipe book is full of delicious surprises including Cinnamon Basil Ice Cream, Cocoa Butter Roasted Veggie Salad and Citrus Crusted Prawns.  Beautiful photographs have you endlessly flicking through the pages.

    Really like the cover of this book. I love spices and would be completely lost without them. I use them every day. What a career change from ballerina to cook!

    I love spices its in my blood so any book that features spices with recipes I really love. Sounds like a great book. Were there many vegetarian recipes in it?? Is it worth me investing in one??
