Giveaway Hungry Healthy Happy by Dannii Martin

January 21, 2016 by GG 101 Comments

Hungry healthy Happy by Dannii Martin

Hungry healthy Happy by Dannii Martin

As soon as you mention diet everyone hears denial.  Hungry Healthy Happy by Dannii Martin shows that eating healthily and loosing weight doesn’t have to mean that you do without the things you love.  Packed with one hundred recipes for a nutritionally balanced diet you can now feast on Breakfast Burritos, courgette Fritters topped with a Delicious runny poached egg, The Perfect Beef Burger and even Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Dannii Martin wrote this book after losing weight herself inorder to improve her health.  She had tried all the various fad diets and came to the conclusion that eating healthily from a balanced range of foods, including some treats, was the only way to maintain a change in her diet.  By swopping out some of the unhealthy ingredients for more nutritious options you can enjoy your favourite foods, including great comfort staples like Macaroni Cheese.

Breakfast Burritos From Hungry healthy Happy

Breakfast Burritos From Hungry healthy Happy

There’s a wide choice of recipes in the book from salad dressings and how to build the perfect burger to smoothies and 2-Minute Ice Cream.  I made the Chocolate Chip Cookies which were delicious and despite the instructions saying they are best on the day they’re baked, the two uneaten cookies were still delicious the following day.  This is a well laid out book with plenty of nitritional information.  My one gripe is that when coconut oil is used it’s measured in tablespoons rather than weight.  As it’s solid, very in winter, at room temperature it’s hard to be accurate with this.

I can’t do diets either – you’re right there’s a sense of denial. The day I stopped weighing myself was the best day – now I just eat real food and I eat what I want with a healthy dose of exercise on the side. This book sounds like the author had a similar epiphany!

I hate the concept of dieting. Denying myself makes me obsess over something so much that I must have it! Ok that sounded crazy and extreme didn’t it? 😉
