One year I took the Glam Tinies skiing, it was the first time for us all; I wanted the holiday to be perfect. The hotel was close to the lifts and the restaurant served a wonderful selection of Italian food. The bar of the hotel was packed by late afternoon with gently steaming customers, half dressed for a day on the slopes and half dressed for an evening with friends. At the back of the bar was a glass bowl with constantly churning thick, dark chocolate. This was unlike any hot chocolate I’d had before, almost solid, rich and creamy. These Hot Chocolate Sticks are the closest to the intense flavour of that special, warming, welcome drink
Hot Chocolate Sticks
Makes 12 gift sticks
- 100g ( scant 3/4 cup) dark chocolate
- 100g ( scant 3/4 cup) white chocolate
- 100g ( scant 3/4 cup) milk chocolate
- 72 Mini marshmallows
- 12 lolly sticks
- 12 silicon mini muffin moulds
Method
- Chop each of the bars into small pieces and place in separate small bowls
- Microwave separately for about 1 and 1/2 minutes, checking after every 30 seconds.
- Stir to melt the last little solid bits
- Measure 1 teaspoon of dark chocolate into the bottom of each mould
- Then add 1 teaspoon of white chocolate and finally 1 teaspoon of milk chocolate
- Put 6 mini marshmallows on each chocolate and leave for 5 minutes
- Place a lolly stick in each one and place in the fridge for 20 minutes
- Then either package as a gift or stir into steaming milk for a delicious indulgent hot chocolate
These are gorgeous and so festive looking. I’d love to make these for gifts for friends xx
They were ridiculously easy and who doesn’t like chocolate? GG
What a fantastic idea! It’s too hot for hot chocolate right now but I’m going to remember this come winter!
Well, you needn’t wait for the cold weather, the youngest Glam Teen has just eaten them like lolly pops. GG
Oh my goodness, what a lovely idea! We bought some of these in Young, NSW, after we tried them in a cafe… they were sooooooo yummy, but very $$$$. I like the idea of making them! Thank you for sharing, and season’s eatings to you and yours GG. xo
When you make them yourself you can choose the quality of the chocolate and produce a lovely gift. GG
These look so lovely. I have seen some of these in some of the finer chocolate shops, but I’ve never actually tried one myself. These would make great little gifts.
*kisses* H
I thought they’d be perfect gifts and they’re so easy and quick to make. GG
What a terrific idea for gifts…I know everyone would love them.
And the great thing is they are quick to make and look cute. GG
