Forget the M&Ms, the handy snack size Kitkat and just chuck Le Whiff in your pocket or bag. “Pop it open, stick it between your lips and inhale through your mouth.” Is this the latest in convenience candy?
David Edwards, who developed Le Whiff, says that it only takes a touch of chocolate to satisfy our tastebuds. Mmmm I think I’d need a little more than that. Anyway they come in a three pack, flip top box or singly, it looks not unlike a nicotine inhalator and instead of removing a cap the two ends are pulled apart and you gently breath in. Too hard and the particles catch in your throat. It is a bit like sucking your lipstick case, so not a great look in public. The chocolate taste is genuine and very good but it isn’t smooth, tongue coatingly luxurious like a real chunk of chocolate. But it is only one calorie!
However if you’re looking for a cup of coffee, in those desperate moments, to pull out of your bag. The coffee flavour is much more satisfying. A gentle hit of sweet coffee and caffeine, the strength of a light espresso.
The idea is great but, really – sucking away on a cylinder should only be done in private!
